Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Photoplethysmography (PPG)-based heart rate (HR) sensing during exercise is essential not only for early detecting hazardous health condition but also for controlling training menu effectively according to athlete's physical condition. However, it is difficult to sense HR especially during vigorous exercise, because the PPG signal is contaminated with motion artifact noise. In our previous work, by using a PPG sensor and a motion artifact sensor, we successfully canceled the motion artifact out of the PPG signal with an adaptive signal processing. To more improve the accuracy of the PPG-based HR sensing, it is important to examine the location dependency between the PPG sensor and the motion artifact sensor. In this paper, for fast walking, running and jumping, we try to optimize the distance and heights of the sensors to be able to more accurately sense the heart rate.
