A Proposal for Radio on Optical OOK System

Abstract(in English) Data offloading by distributed many femto-cell base stations is one of solutions to provide large wireless communication capacity. Radio over Fiber (RoF) technique can integrate the base stations and reduce the cost of maintenance. In this paper, a simultaneous transmission scheme for both optical On-Off Keying (OOK) signal and radio frequency (RF) signal is proposed. The quality of the RF signal transmitted with 10G Ethernet is experimentally evaluated. An interference suppression scheme and an optimum threshold for detecting OOK signal are proposed.
