Abstract(in English) | Various microcomputer boards and wireless communication modules have been released recently. These devices are suitable candidate devices for developing wireless sensor networks, according to a low power consumption and a reasonable price. Many researchers have developed various types of sensor networks with these devices. However, almost all evaluations employ a simpler system comparing to systems in simulation researches. Especially, almost all evaluations have been performed on devices with a single wireless interface because most devices support only one hardware serial port for a wireless interface. This paper develops a new microcomputer device with multiple wireless interface for practical sensor network evaluations. The developed device supports two Xbee wireless communication interfaces, a real time clock function, a charging Li-Ion/ Polymer batteries from a solar cell, a read/write function for a SD card and a power control function for external sensors. The device is implemented based on Arduino platform and has a compatibility for various Arduino shields. Therefore, users can use the development environment for Arduino and can implement their function with these shields. |
