Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A sleeping function is effective for reducing the power consumption of base station's operation. Even if it can suppress the inter-cell interference, the access of user to the base station is limited. As a result, the traffic load per base station is increased and the received signal power of user becomes small due to the long distance between the base station and the user. The user throughput is reduced. This paper proposes the sleeping control for the base stations within the constant area. The proposed techniques are two types. First type is the central control where one server is the centralized control for all the sleep functions of base stations. Second type is the distributed one where the base station's decision of sleeping depends on the number of supported users. We clarify the effect of the proposed sleeping control by the computer simulation.
