Implementation and Evaluation of LTE HARQ Model for Network Simulator

Abstract(in English) Along with the recent spread of LTE system, network evaluation of LTE has became more important recently. We have been developing LTE system level simulation model on the network simulator aiming for the development of generalized simulation testbed that enables evaluation of LTE system network performance. We have not implemented HARQ process which is important to simulate characteristic of LTE wireless interface. Hence, the precision of the simulation was not enough especially for the evaluation of bad channel quality environment such as highspeed fading channel or on the cell edge because combined gain by HARQ is not included. Recently, we have introduced HARQ function into the LTE system simulator. In this paper, the concept of HARQ modeling and some evaluation results in the multi-cell environment having inter-cell interference are shown. The results shows the importance of considering HARQ feature in unstable channel state environment.
