Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) With the spread of mobile devices with GPS and various sensors, mobile sensing has attracted much attention. Mobile sensing applications obtain many types of statistical information by analyzing sensor data collected from a large number of mobile devices. However, it is likely that user privacy is violated in mobile sensing. Therefore, we propose and evaluate a privacy-preserving method. Our method has the following features. Each mobile device chooses a false data other than a true data in accordance with a certain rule, and sends it to an application server. Using the rule, the server can reconstruct the true data distribution. Then, it is not able to know the true data of each mobile device, and so user privacy can be protected. Furthermore, we demonstrate by simulation that our method improves reconstruction accuracy as compared to an existing method.
