Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a broadcast protocol for vehicular ad hoc networks. The protocol can reduce the MAC layer contention time by using backbone-based forwarding. Network coding is used to attain high reliability with low overhead. Therefore, the protocol is able to provide a lightweight and reliable solution for data dissemination in VANETs. We use theoretical analysis and computer simulations to show the advantage of the proposed protocol over other existing alternatives.
