Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose an image perceptual encryption scheme for JPEG 2000 compression. Perceptual encryption schemes degrade visual information of images in order to make it difficult to recognize. In comparison with encryption schemes based on number theory, perceptual encryption schemes have a high flexibility for the processing. The proposed method generates a visually encrypted image by scrambling the position of discrete wavelet transformed(DWTed) coefficients of an original image or signs of them using a random number. This proposed method performs the visual encryption in consideration of the DWT filter and the size of codeblock used in JPEG 2000 compression previously. Therefore, as compared to conventional perceptual encryptions, the proposed method enables to compress the visually encrypted images effectively. We confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method by the simulation using images.
