Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this report, we deal with the removal of the random impulse noise superimposed on the monochrome image. For the removal of the impulse noise, it is well-known that the switch type median filters are effective. In this study, we propose a new random impulse removal method consisting of the new impulse detector and remover. Concretely, we propose an impulse detector based on the difference between an original signal and the median, and the isolation characteristics of the impulses. And we propose a new median filter based on the non-local processing, which is better than the conventional median filter. In the proposed method, impulse noises are detected actively, and the noises are removed effectively by the structure-preserving filter. Through the experiments, we verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
