Abstract(in English) | As one of the evaluation methods of electro-magnetic disturbances, the measurement method of the amplitude probability distribution (APD) of disturbance envelope has been specified. In some previous researches, the relationship between the APD of a disturbing signal and its impact on a digital wireless communication system has been studied, and the estimation methods of the impact on communication quality of some systems have been proposed. However, the relationship cannot come into effect for continuous burst disturbing signals because the assumption of independent bit error does not hold good in these cases. Moreover, in IP-based communication networks, the data is transferred not by bits but by a packet, and the error correction is performed on a packet. In this paper, the impacts on the packet error rate (PER) of a direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) system by burst disturbances with various pulse durations have been studied and the estimation method of PER considering pulse duration of a burst disturbance has been proposed. Moreover, the estimation results using the proposed method have been compared with the measured results of PER for the DSSS system in order to assess the appropriateness of the method. Finally, the key issues to apply the proposed PER estimation method for evaluation of burst disturbances with various pulse durations also have been discussed. |
