Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This study presents nondestructive readout of information hidden in objects fabricated with 3-D printers. Although conventional techniques can hide information in objects fabricated objects with 3-D printers to protect copyright of digital data for 3-D printing, readout of the hidden information is difficult because of taking X-ray photograph. In a technique presented in this study, fabricated objects that have cavities near the surface are heated, and the spatial pattern of cavities are detected based on the temperature distribution on the surface. This technique requires only a heating device and a thermography; therefore, it is easier than conventional techniques. In the evaluation, an experiment was conducted to examine whether the spatial pattern of cavities could be detected by eyesight, and the results obtained from this experiment demonstrated that the technique was feasible.
