Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In usual color removal, only lightness components are used to obtain output gray-levels. However, there is a problem in the conversion as follows: Same gray-level is assigned to the pixels which have identical lightness and different hue/chroma and these cannot be distinguished in an output monochrome image. To cope with this problem, investigations for color removal methods which reflect color information into an output monochrome image are carried out in recent years. In this report, a new color removal method which pays attention to reflect gradations in an input color image to an output monochrome image is proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is shown through experiments.
