Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the "great east Japan earthquake" of March 11th, 2011, a lot of information and communications technology (ICT) resources were completely or partially damaged. The realization of resilient ICT network and services is placed as a critical issue, which needs urgent resolution. In this paper, we propose a disaster-resilient distributed storage system based on especially designed MDRUs (Movable and Deployable Resource Units). The proposed disaster-resilient distributed storage system offers image/video appropriately to people in the disaster areas through MDRUs. Unequal error protection of image/video by using layered sparse-graph codes protects significant image/video components stronger than other components.
