An Ad-hoc Network Control Method over OpenFlow Using Mobile Characteristics

Abstract(in English) In contemporary society, many people conduct the study of the inter-vehicle communication. On the inter-vehicle communication, the automobile communication uses wireless network communication such as ad-hoc network. However, the stability of wireless communication on the inter-vehicle communication is changeable from moment to moment. And, when the distance between vehicle to vehicle is long, the stability will be unstable. By the way, the openflow network is called soft-defined network. We can control the openflow network programmably and dynamically using openflow controller and switch. The purpose of this paper intends to control the inter-vehicle communication stably by managing the wireless ad-hoc network dynamically using openflow as considering the position of vehicles on the assumption that the vehicles have the function of openflow switch. If the intermediate vehicle exists between sender and receiver they are communicating each other, we construct the robust wireless communication as changing the network flow from receiver to intermediate vehicle and establishing the communication from intermediate vehicle to receiver. In this paper, we estimate the stability of openflow wireless communication as comparing the throughput, the packet transport factor and time cost of establishing of conventional ad-hoc inter-vehicle communication with our proposal system that considers the position of vehicles using openflow.
