Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Neural interface and brain-machine interface(BMI) have been intense investigation. General technique for information transmission from machine to living body is electrical stimulation on metal electrode. If we miniaturize the size of stimulation electrode to deliver more information, the maximum injectable charge without causing tissue damage becomes less. In this study, We confirmed the feasibility of improving the performance of implantable stimulation electrode by nanocomposite(NC) gel coating. The results of the in-vitro evaluation of the platinum (Pt) electrode covered with the NC gel showed potential for enhancement of in-vivo performance by hydrophilic gel coating. |
