Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Voice-output communication aid (VOCA) is one of the assistive devices supporting communication of children with speech development disorders. Our research group has been developing a more versatile VOCA, named "VCAN", having an excellent feature of being freely customizable from its entire structure to detailed components such as the size and position of the button. Its customization, however, includes complicated tasks, consequently all being done by engineers up to now In order to make VCAN more popular, its management and editing should be simplified more. Then we proposed a system that enables ordinary users to easily manage and edit VCAN in a web environment. This system consists of two subsystems for management and editing. In this study, we clarified functions required for the editing, subsequently producing a trial VCAN editor satisfying the required functions. Functional analysis of the editing revealed that three independent functions such as page setup, button setup and preview are necessary. These functions were materialized in the VCAN editor as corresponding editing regions of the display. All functions of the editor were verified to work well by making a VCAN via the Internet. In the next step, we should complete the entire system and evaluate its operationality and usability.
