Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In color-to-gray conversion, usually, lightness components are only used to obtain gray-levels. However, in this method, pixels which have identical lightness and different chromaticity are converted into same gray-level and they cannot be distinguished in an output monochrome image. To cope with this problem, in recent years, the color-to-gray conversions which consider differences of colors in an input image have been proposed. In this report, the global consistency and local contrast improvement are simultaneously considered in color-to-gray conversion. Here, the global consistency is to assign an identical gray-level to pixels which have same color in an input image.
