Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this report, we investigate the influence of network delay on the sense of presence in a networked haptic drum system by Quality of Experience (QoE) assessment. In our assessment method which we previously employed to investigate effects of sensory stimuli such as haptic and olfactory stimuli on the sense of presence for several applications in virtual environments, we use the rating scale method and the Semantic Differential (SD) technique together, and examine the relation between results of the rating scale method and those of the SD technique by multiple regression analysis. We clarify the effectiveness of the assessment method in QoE assessment about the sense of presence.
