Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We are living in a world eager for energy. However, the energy consumption of ICT infrastructures is still increasing rapidly, including base stations in the mobile networks. Base stations are the major contributors to mobile networks' energy consumption, which is one of important factors that drives the increasing energy cost of ICT. Many researchers have worked on reducing energy consumption of base stations, including integrating renewable energy supplies to their systems. However unlike other efforts, in this paper we focus on a base station system that is not equipped with batteries, which features relatively short life-circles and high cost for replacement, and uses traditional energy as the supplement power source. Based on this system, we propose a solar-adaptive resource scheduling strategy for it, that reschedule data transmission from solar low-radiation periods to high-radiation periods, to achieve traditional energy saving. In this paper, we show the short-term simulation results for discussion on the performance of this strategy. Although the result shows a deterioration under certain conditions, still, we show the possible effectiveness of this strategy.
