Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes Editable Reality (ER) system for the computer-aided style-design of industrial products. The ER system virtualizes real objects using 3D reconstruction technique and enables to edit the geometry of the objects interactively in Mixed Reality (MR) environment. We developed a prototype of the ER system by integrating two sub-systems for 3D scanning and manipulating the virtualized real objects based on MR technology. It provides a design space in which designers can change the 3D shape and location of substantial products in the real world as well as virtual 3D objects through a video see-through type display.
