Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | This paper proposes a new multi-view video viewing method that provides a novel user experience. The proposed method introduces two modes of users' viewpoint input, i.e. stare-mode and viewpoint-transition-mode. During stare-mode, viewpoint is automatically moved to one of the real camera, and real camera video with high quality is displayed (automatic viewpoint change). On the contrary, during viewpoint-transition-mode, the synthesized interpolate images between real cameras are also used to create smooth viewpoint transition effect. Appropriate transition of these two modes enables both the video quality while staring and the smooth viewpoint change effect while viewpoint transition. In addition, the proposed system introduces a delay control. It keeps consistency of direction of users' viewpoint change and the automatic view point change. Therefore, it prevents deterioration of viewing confort. Moreover, the proposed system employs adaptive control of threshold value. It prevents the system to accumulate the effect of automatic viewpoint change, and prevents the conflict of users' viewpoint input and viewpoint of showing. |
