Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have studied to use intra-palm propagation signals for person authentication. In this paper, we present the current research results and show the findings from the investigation of discriminative frequency elements for improving the verification performance. Concretely, a variance of spectral elements obtained from each individual and that obtained from all individuals are defined as intra-individual variation and inter-individual one, respectively and a spectral element of which inter-individual variation is larger than the intra-individual one is regarded as discriminative. By using intra-palm propagation spectra obtained from twenty-one experimental subjects, we found out such discriminative frequencies and evaluated verification performance as the number of frequencies is increased. As a result, it is confirmed that the performance could be improved by adjusting the number of discriminative frequency elements.
