Design of Biometric Authentication System with Template Protection Using SIM Card

Abstract(in English) Biometric information cannot be changed. Therefore, if it is stolen or leaked, we cannot operate biometric authentication systems. As a countermeasure technology for this problem, template protection has been studied. However, if templates and parameters which are used in template protection are leaked, adversaries can get biometric information from them. For this reason, secure template protection and secure parameter management are important. In this paper, we propose biometric authentication systems with template protection using a SIM card. In addition, we consider security and convenience of the system. Using the SIM card, proposed system can securely manage parameter and keep high usability. We focus on Cancelable Biometrics and Biometric Cryptography as template protection.
