Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Nowadays, high performance of Android systems is required because the embedded systems are used in several fields and their processing is becoming more complicated. Using a special accelerator is one of the approach to realize high performance but there is an obstacle: it is a limit of circuit resources in a device. A FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) has reconfigurablility and is able to overcome the obstacle. In this paper, we present a SW (Software)/HW (Hardware) cooperative platform on a programmable SoC (System on a Chip) released by Xilinx Inc. to realize the high performance in Android applications with FPGAs. This platform provides application developers with some Java methods to control accelerators in PRR (Partial Reconfigurable Region) and is capable of high performance computing.
