Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In wireless systems using "the specified low power radio", the amount of information to be transmitted may be small, there is a need for widening coverage area, improving reliability and immunity against the interference by other systems working in the same frequency band. We developed a wireless system using spread spectrum modulation suitable for reliable wide-area and low data rate communication. Field tests are carried out at three places in Sendai city : (a) between a hilltop and lowland area in suburbs, (b) between two points in the coastal flat plain, and (c) between the rooftop of the station and surrounding streets. The field-test results show that the obtained propagation distances at a data rate of 1.95kbps and a packet error rate(P.E.R.) ofless than 10^<-2> are roughly 14km, 6km and 1km, respectively.
