Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this report, a transmit beamforming technique based on channel estimation using load modulation for short-range MIMO is proposed. In this technique, at least three ports connectable to a transmitter and a receiver are used at transmitting side and two of them are connected to a transmitter and a receiver. The rest of them and an arbitrary receiving port are terminated and switched with three kinds of load, and a channel between the terminated ports can be estimated by measuring a mutual coupling between the ports connected to the transmitter and the receiver at the transmitting side multiple times. This technique requires no feedback system of channel state information at receiver side, therefore channel estimation and transmit beamforming can be performed by more simplified system. Numerical results show that the proposed technique realizes the equivalent effect of the transmit beamforming of the conventional technique with channel state information known at transmitting side.
