Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) project which is lead by Japan and the USA consists of CORE satellite which carries dual frequency precipitation radar (DPR) and microwave radiometer and constellation satellites which carry microwave radiometer. Japan side (JAXA and NICT) is responsible for the development of the DPR. Proto-flight test of the DPR finished on February 2012 and spacecraft integration and test had been conducted at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Then, the core satellite was transferred to Tanegashima Space Center on Oct. 2013, and the GPM was launched on Feb. 28, 2014. Initial checkout was finished and nominal operation phase had started.
