Abstract(in English) The Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) is an international project and an expanded mission of the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) project to achieve more accurate and frequent precipitation observations. The GPM core observatory was launched by the H-IIA Launch Vehicle No. 23 (H-IIA F23) at 3:37 a.m. on February 28, 2014 (Japan Standard Time, JST) from the JAXA Tanegashima Space Center. In this paper, GPM first images and a schedule of data release are introduced.
