Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The optical fiber transmission experiment confirmed a stable Costas-Loop homodyne detection for 20Gbit/s QPSK signal. Summation, distraction, and multiply processes in the Costas-Loop were configured by only digital balanced circuits of limiting amplifiers and Exclusive OR, and this configuration achieved a high sensitivity of phase error detection. A loop filter involved in the Costas-Loop was designed to compensate the phase rotation at around red to blue shift frequency range in a laser diode FM response. Owing to these two design essentials, we successfully demonstrated stable Homodyne detection for 20Gbit/s QPSK signal transmission of over 100km (800ps/nm chromatic dispersion).
