Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper focus on an appropriate conversational role of a virtual agent in a co-dining situation. We developed a co-dining agent that has eating motions and carry a table talk as a listener, speaker, or mutual conversant. Participants evaluated the impression of the agent and the table talk. Our results indicate that participants masticate more slowly, and have better impression of the agent that can carry a table talk than the one without talking. As for the appropriate conversational role, the agent asks questions to the participants was evaluated as most likeable.
