Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Human-interactive robots are assessed by various factors such as behavior, appearance, quality of interaction, etc. In the present study, we investigated a hypothesis that impressions of a poor-looking robot will be improved by emotional interaction with physical touch with the robot. An experiment with human subjects confirmed that subjective ratings of loveliness, friendliness, and familiarity were improved after two minutes physical and emotional interaction with a poor-looking robot.
