Abstract(in English) Characteristic of the frequency noise in the semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) without facet mirrors are theoretically analyzed and experimentally confirmed. We have found that the spectrum line-width and the frequency noise in low frequency region scarcely change in the SOA. On the other hand, frequency noise in high frequency region increases when inputted optical power is low.
