Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this report, towards realization of a future mobile network with super high bit rate and capacity, a new radio access network has been proposed. Proposed future radio access bases on the phantom cell concept characterized by carrying out overlay arrangement of small cells which realizes wide-bandwidth and high-speed transmission, into a large cell which provides coverage and mobility, and by making separation connection of the link corresponding to (C)-plane and User (Ill-plane to these cells, and it also extends the concept so that the existing small cells or the various small cells to be added in the future are accommodated flexibly and appropriately in the network, and cell selection and radio resource assignment can be performed according to a user's moving situation, service requirements, etc. In this report, a fundamental idea is described about the above future radio access and the mobile optical network supporting the radio access.
