Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Even when using spread spectrum (SS) modulation for a radio communication system, we have take into account the occupied frequency bandwidth due to the regulations or the standard it conforms to; therefore we have to bandlimit the SS transmission signal with a filter in some cases. We evaluated bit error rate (BER) performance due to additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) of the nallowbanded DS-SS transmission system using Gaussian filter. Our computer simulation showed that the BER performance was just IdB degraded from that of NRZ-pulse spreading without bandlimitation. However, the matched filter for the bandlimiting Gaussian filter is not optimum for AWGN channel any more in this case because a Gaussian filter causes intersymbol interference. It doesn't satisfy Nyquist first criterion. If we make the bandwidth of the filter at the receiver side a little wider than the matched filter, the ISI must be reduced and BER is expected to be reduced. In this study, we evaluated the BER performance and studied the effect of the bandwidth of the receiver side.
