Abstract(in English) | Due to the shortage of spectral resources with ever-increasing need for high-speed broadband communications, the use of unexploited millimeter-wave is considered to have a great potential for breakthrough in realizing high throughput wireless access networks. However, due to its strong directivity, the communication coverage supported by the millimeter wave is limited. The use of cooperative relaying is a key to increase the coverage drastically, but it is still considered as an early stage for practical implementation. In this work, the cooperative diversity schemes based on amplify-and-forward (AF) and decode-and-forward (DF) are reviewed and their pros and cons are discussed focusing on the gap between their aspects in terms of theory and practice. |
