Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This presentation describes establishment of the one-step liquid-phase (OS-LP) synthesis for carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and other functional carbon nanomaterials (CNMs), in which synthesis a substrate is heated by electric resistance heating in alcoholic solution containing organometallic complexes under ordinary pressure. A wider combination of factors (i.e., alcohols, organometallic complexes, additives, substrates, etc.) in the OS-LP method, compared with the known gas-phase process, is able to synthesize a variety of CNTs (e.g., highly aligned multi-walled CNTs, single-walled CNTs, etc.) selectively, and also is able to conduct synthesis of CNTs and their functionalization simultaneously in one-step process. Synthesized functional CNMs brought distinctive features in the electrochemical measurements.
