Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) There are increasing attacks against embedded system software as well as PC software. Software of embedded system is called firmware. Many embedded systems physically or directly influence on people or things and embedded systems with network connection are increasing. Danger happens if such embedded systems are directly or remotely attacked and have malfunctioned. From such a background, it is preferable that attacker can hardly succeed in analysis or modification of firmware even if the firmware is at his/her hand. In this manuscript, an improved time measuring protocol is proposed, which is based on previously proposed time measuring protocol that makes, using Encrypted Signature, embedded system firmware more resistant to dynamic analysis. The properties of the proposed improved protocol are discussed.
