Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Thermally Assisted Magnetic Recording (TAMR) has been studied as one of future technologies for magnetic recording. TAMR uses Near-Field Transducer (NFT) to create an optical spot of 10 nm in diameter for a small thermal spot to assist magnetic recording, because a conventional optical lens cannot generate a small optical spot beyond interference limit. The technique applying plasmonic waveguide to propagate the energy of Surface Plasmon Polaritons (SPPs) is also studied. This paper review the research related to TAMR using surface plasmon technique.
