Basic Study on Color Image Quality Assessment : The Influence of Hue and Saturation

Abstract(in English) We have been investigating the influence of hue and saturation by subjective image quality assessment in order to establish color image quality assessment method. We employ fifteen images in "LIVE Image Quality Assessment Database Release 2". About each image, original image, five different saturation images and four different hue images were prepared for the subjective image quality assessment. According to the assessment result, low saturation images were gotten lower evaluation. However, the monochrome images were gotten higher evaluation than saturation 0.2 images. The images in larger hue difference turned out to be gotten lower evaluation.
