REMOCOP : A remote collaboration platform

Abstract(in English) We propose the REMOte Collaboration Open Platform (REMOCOP) to meet the demand for remote collaboration to accommodate distributed human resources. REMOCOP is built on three concepts; 1) the temporal synchronization of multimodal information, 2) accelerated work by unrestricted information sharing and 3) application framework associated with video streaming systems. In order to realize these concepts, we propose a synchronization method for multiple information sources based on a video time-code and an information presentation method using a video overlay scheme. For evaluation, we implemented a prototype of REMOCOP, which achieves overlay rendering by 4k60p. In a test of temporal synchronization, REMOCOP achieved accurate synchronization within ± 17ms.
