Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Multi-spot satellites delivers higher performance using the same frequency multiple times simultaneously. However, conventional satellites designed as bent-pipe fashion uses fixed bandwidth and connectivity between user link and feeder link at each beam, which is incapable of improving frequency efficiency in a variety of traffic demand. Especially, in case of disaster relief, a large number of VSAT's is expected to be used as a backhaul of terrestrial network in a few spot beams, satellites and ground segments should be designed to allocate resources flexibly for the specific area based on the traffic demand. This paper proposes system architecture to solve these problems. In the proposed system, multiple gateway enable to reuse feeder link frequency, user link bandwidths are controlled based on the traffic demand, digital channelizer enable flexible bandwidth allocation and connectivity at each beam.
