Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Satellite/terrestrial integrated mobile communication system (STICS) can provide a robust connectivity of mobile terminals not only in mountain or sea area but also in case of terrestrial emergency. To increase a frequency efficiency in STICS, it is effective to share all of the allocated frequency bands with terrestrial and satellite systems. In the current cellular systems, the cell deployment with the frequency reuse factor of 1 is adopted to increase the channel capacity of the system, and it is reasonable to use the full frequency multiplexing between the terrestrial and the satellite systems which does not make some frequency bands unused in the terrestrial cellular system. However, when all bands are shared by both systems, the interference at each other is simultaneously increased. To the best of our knowledge, those interference in STICS sharing all frequency bands has not been much studied yet. Therefore, in this study, we calculate the desired to undesired (D/U) signal ratios of each link in STICS sharing all bands in normal mode, in which the down links of terrestrial and satellite systems use the same frequency band and also both uplinks use the same frequency band, from link budget calculations. Then, it is shown that the interference is not significantly large in the terrestrial system and that the D/U ratios can be increased in the satellite system when a certain distance from the terrestrial system is kept.
