Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, error rate performance of multidimensional trellis coded modulation (MD-TCM) in the IEEE 802.22 wireless regional area network (WRAN). The IEEE 802.22 is a wireless communication standard operating over TV white space (TVWS). In IEEE802.22, QAM is used for data mapping and OFDM is used for modulation. In this paper, multidimensional trellis-coded modulation (MD-TCM) is applied for data mapping instead of conventional coding and QAM. 4-dimensional TCM based on Wei construction is applied to the IEEE 802.22 WRAN. Simulation results show that the MD-TCM is superior on the error rate performance comparing conventional coding and QAM under same bit rate condition. This performance advantage becomes larger when frequency interleaving is equipped with OFDM.
