Abstract(in English) | This research focuses on WBAN (Wireless Body Area Network), for medical and helathcare use. The WBAN has two problems. (i) There are a few antennas which is suitable for 2.4GHz band which is expected to be used mainly in future. (ii) High reliability of the communication is required in order to apply the medical field WBAN, however the communication condition is influenced by the human motion. In this study, an antenna, which is for WBAN measurement at 2.4 GHz band, was fabricated and designed and the antenna orientation for good communication status during human motion was considered. The antenna is fabricated and measured return loss, and the resonance frequency. In this research, time variation of received level of point-to-point during standing and walking in which transmitter is on navel and receivers are on breast, head, right arm, right wrist, and right ankle is measured in an indoor environment by two subjects. Two-way analysis of variance for the average of the values of the received level whose factors are the orientation of transmit and receive antennas was subjected for each position of the receive antenna and subject. As a result, it is quantitatively shown that the orientation of of the transmit and the receive antenna causes the change of received level. It is also shown that changing antenna orientation commonly improves received level in the case of one-on-one communication, but the best antenna orientation in the case of multiple access communication is depends on subjects during standing and walking. The results of this research would be useful to design highly reliabile WBAN communication systems. |
