Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes the simple selection metric for localization employing both GPS and wireless LAN, and then experimentally investigates its localization accuracy. Considering the recent spread of smart phones which are normally equipped with these different wireless devices, it is meaningful to evaluate the actual potential of the localization in the simultaneous use of GPS and wireless LAN. The feature of the proposed approach is to create the selection metric using both the number of visible GPS satellites and wireless LAN access points (AP) and is to improve the location estimates by using this proposed selection metric. To confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method, the computer simulation based on the actual propagation condition have been carried out.
