Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Software-Defined Networking attracts a lot of attention as technology for centralized control and management of IP networks, which are inherently operated in autonomous and decentralized manner. There have been proposed some SDN protocols like OpenFlow, but they have a drawback that they are unable to be introduced to existing networks unless all of the existing networking equipments are placed to new ones which support the protocols. In this paper, we target to allow an administrator to manage a wide-area distributed network composed of enterprise networks, campus networks and data-center networks in which network equipments do not have SDN features, in a single unitary policy, under the assumption that the backbone network supports SDN protocols like OpenFlow. We propose a network management system which sets necessary configuration to equipments automatically and reactively, based on our Service-Defined Networking (SvDN) concept.
