Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, a mode division multiplexing transmission with a few-mode fiber has been studied. The few-mode fiber has a relatively high Δ since it require a low bending loss of higher-order mode. In general, the Rayleigh scattering and the imperfection losses increase with dopant concentration in the core and cladding. Thus, we consider that a study on low-loss in few-mode fiber is very important in order to realize a long-haul mode division multiplexing transmission. In this study, we investigated the mode dependent loss of Rayleigh scattering loss by using conventional simulation model.
