Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Cross-modal interaction such as the Stream/Bounce effect in audiovisual integration has been known to be strongly induced by audio-visual stimulus pairs at temporally and/or spatially close to each other. Resent study, however, reported the case where the temporal lags between two stimuli to be judged as simultaneous do not correspond to those induce the cross-modal interaction maximally. In the present study, we investigated the recalibration processes in the temporal judgments and the interaction between sensory modalities, by using two different measurements (i.e., Temporal Order Judgment and Simultaneity Judgment) in temporal lag adaptation technique. We compared the Point of Subjective Simultaneity and the temporal lag which induces the maximal perception of 'Bouncing' of the visual stimuli between pre- and post-adaptation.
