Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Chikan, a Japanese term for molestation, has become an unavoidable matter for everyone who uses public transportation, and one may be a victim or may be falsely accused. In this study, we surveyed 137 college students' attitudes in order to investigate the relation between uncomfortable-contact situations and molestation judgments on public transport. The results of our questionnaire indicated that crowded situations make not only people uncomfortable but also criminal identification difficult. In order to deal with chikan appropriately, we need to consider the risk of being in crowded spaces. |
