Abstract(in English) We have developed the watt-class blue-violet laser diode array for the applications to data projector and automotive lighting. By original thermal design of the 1mm width laser diode array, we have reached the optical power of 6.3W at room temperature under continuous wave operation. We have developed both an NUV-LD module with an output optical power of 60W and a novel blue phosphor material. The light source flux as high as about 10,000 lm has been achieved.
